Lighting it up

You know when there is just something you are both anxious and excited to work on? Well, that has been me the last couple of weeks working through my sets knowing these were in line. I have been pulling all sorts of crazy hours catching up on the backlog, working towards time to get to this particular collection.

I just knew this was going to be a great collection. It was the night of the Supermoon a couple of weeks ago and no surprise, I was at drum circle. I had to be there. The ocean, the water, fire, drums, and great vibes basically guarantee coming away from the night peaceful, relaxed and with an amazing sense of inner calm. Granted, the moon and the ocean were the major contributors to the mood, however I had the added pleasure of being behind the lens capturing some fantastic moments.

I uploaded a huge set to Facebook because I had a difficult time in selecting which images to post and I had an even more difficult time choosing favorites. Yes, some of these are on the noisy side and I knew that going in. The circle was large and oftentimes the performers were just a bit out of reach. Still, I am very well pleased with the moments captured. Just looking back through these photos take me back not just to the when, but to how it made me feel.

It’s what I love most about photography. There’s always two subjects, myself and the focus of the photograph. One could say if done right, a third factor is the feelings it emotes from the viewer. What do you think?
