A little behind the scenes action

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is one of the area’s leading pediatric care hospitals, offering comprehensive health services and programs in an atmosphere that is child-friendly. That being said, that costs money, plenty of it.

What better way to unite the people and get them to work together to support such a noble cause than a Toy Drive. With more than 30,000 motorcyclists and double that amount of people expected to take part in the event, chances were that the “29th Annual South Florida President’s Council (SFPC) Toys in the Sun Run” presented by the Mardi Gras Casino, was going to get it done.

As for me, I had the extreme pleasure of being a part of the action on and backstage at the Main Stage with artists such as Soulicide, Dee Snider and Jasmin Caine performing live for all our listening pleasure. Never in my life have I been up on real stage, so let me say that I was insanely giddy like a kid in a toy store. I wanted to be everywhere at once. Sadly, I am only one little one and therefore I had to pace myself. That being said, I decided to warm up Artemis with some quick little snaps of the backstage action while the bands set up their gear and ran sound check.

Did I mention how excited I was? Of course I did and I’m saying it again. Eek. I don’t think I ever stopped smiling. Needless to say though I got a little click happy and definitely took my fill of photos. So I decided it was best to break down my sharing of what I captured in separate blogs posts such as this one. After all, got to keep you coming back for more.

Even talk though, here are the goods. Nothing fancy, just me walking around trying not to get in the way and this is what I saw.  Oh, before I forget, if you weren’t able to make it to the Toy Run this year (you’ll go next year right?), you can still donate to the cause on their website here by clicking on this link http://toyrundonation.weebly.com. As for me, I’m getting back to the grind and working on the action.
