One thing I absolutely love when shooting a band is being able to get moody, I love playing with tones and He is Legend’s lighting gave me just that opportunity.
He is Legend, the second band up on the list from last weekend’s gig at Revolution Live. While it’s a a smaller set, it is not short of points of view. I was everywhere during that set. I was just loving their lighting and just the individual personas that were coming through this set. At first I considered turning this in to a monochrome set, I just couldn’t help working a little mood in some of these shots so I decided to go with the color version for most.
While I was still shooting clean, lighting really does make it a different playground and I was ready to play.As per standard, the first three songs I was in the pit and the lighting was tamer but when I stepped away from safety of the gate, I took in the crowd’s energy, mixed it with that of the band and set off. All the flashes of white and then color, the contrasts, it had me in the zone. It’s still amazes me how quickly one band’s set can go by when I’m behind the lens. I suppose shooting with my 28-70mm zoom helps in that because I have so much flexibility regardless of where I’m shooting from. Despite covering them from most angles, I could have easily grabbed a few more shots. Inn fact, I did post a larger set on my Facebook that I would love for you to check out. And as for the band, go get to know a little about them here.
As always, I thank you for your time and any feedback is always welcomed.
