On the hill, Cane Hill

I knew February was lining up to be a busy one and I was all for it.

I decided the best way for me to gear up for this would be to take the month of January off. After all, it was just after the holidays and the start of the new year so why not? It was great to have a break. As much I love The Beast, downtime is equally welcomed and appreciated. It was nice to say the least.

But February came and it’s time to work. I was looking forward to this night. Revolution Live lined up a great ticket and I was ready. I was on assignment with I’m Music Magazine and it was to be a night of some new bands for me and one that was definitely on my must see live list. Sevendust, Tremonti, Cane Hill, Lullwater and Kirra. Let me tell. you, I wasn’t ready for how great this night was.

There was plenty to be enjoyed by both my ears and the Beast’s lens. I’m going to be sharing my sets one blog at a time just because and no, they will not necessarily be in the order they were performed. I’m actually going to be posting entries on the order of which I liked the photos, least to most. But let me say that it has nothing to do with the artists performance. The choice is from my personal perspective as a photographer and my tastes in lighting and atmosphere.

That being said, first up is Cane Hill. These guys were absolutely amazing and so hard. Even the crowd got insanely riled up. Unfortunately for me, they had the most difficult lighting set up of the evening. They were primarily dark with strobing which made favorite “mood” type shots limited. Still, I really did enjoy their performance and felt their intensity which to me means the most. Nothing artificial with these guys. Here’s a look at my favorites with the matching set including all the images up on my Facebook. But make sure you check out Cane Hill. I think you’ll enjoy them as well.
