Yes, it is about that time. The get down of get downs….
I’ve been working behind the scenes and getting back up to speed. Reworking some photos and recovering back to 100%. While I’m still gathering some photos to update sections of my portfolio (you’ll want too periodically check my galleries), I decided it is about that time that I bring to you one amazing night of funk. That’s right people, slightly delayed yet on time, Lettuce rocking Revolution Live.
So before anything else, let me say that they weren’t the easiest to shoot. Their sets were fog and lights galore which I am learning to not just capture but use to my advantage playing with moods. What limited me a bit was that for the most part they were a static band. So the range in photos is not as diverse but let me tell what an amazing time I had. They were funky and I could not stop dancing.
I had been hearing about them for quite some time now and I was definitely stoked to be covering their performance. Their music was groovy and the side bonus for me ‘working” was that I got to dance, dance, dance. I also met some great people along the way. It is after all helpful in a standing room only crowd to make friends along the way. They help little ol’ me work my way around. Of course I would groove with them along the way.
I am thankful to have packed light. Just my book bag and once again my 24-70mm stuck to Beast like glue. I weaved in and out of groups periodically going back to my own people in the back. It was a good time and certainly not “work” in the traditional sense. Yet, capture moments I did and here I am sharing them with you.
I have an album I’ve uploaded to my Facebook page that includes some more images to browse through if you’d like and here are my top ten of the evening. It is after all, the funk. Lettuce really was great. I would most certainly recommend checking them out when they’re in your area.
