Roosevelt Collier at Revolution Live

I love pleasant surprises. More specifically, when you go in to a gig not knowing anything about the opening act and coming away pleasantly surprised by their sound.

For me there was this night. I went in for Lettuce. Yes, Lechuga. They are amazing and such a great sound and of course I had a great time with them in front of my lens. What I loved aside from their set was their opening and supporting act, Roosevelt Collier. They are a local group right here from the MIA and they were definitely on their A game this night.

I have never actually heard someone on steel guitar performing live and I was certainly impressed. In case you don’t get where I’m going with this, I was really enjoying their set and I recommend you guys looking in to them here. Now, about my photos.

I shot them in monochrome with my weapon of choice, The Beast and my trusty 24-70mm. What can I say, I’m always learning. Now, you will see some color shots because I was feeling the tones a little too much to not share those with you as well. I’ve selected my top 12 for you here but you will see a few more checking out my Facebook Page.

Let me know what you think.
