Give Me A Quiet Mind

Give me the strength to be kind, to combine.

Yes, it’s another entry and another welcomed addition to my collective work of artists.

I’ve had some articles come across my feed saying that the art of blogging along with your photography may not be such a great thing. They say that it is an outdated method of attracting or generating views. That if you wish to draw more traffic, focus more on your images. I say that this doesn’t apply to me. Why? Because I don’t include a blog entry when sharing my sets for any of those reasons.

The reason I always write a little about each set is simple, I want to add my personal touch to everything I share with you. After all, my photography is my fire, my passion, my light and it must be fed. So why not share the other aspects of it and not just the results. Yes, we are in a day and age where it’s not always so easy to find the time. It’s not necessarily an easy task to create new content with each set and of course, my image results are of utmost importance for my clients. However, that personal connection is important to me and I work to maintain it.

That being said, let’s tell you a bit about what this little collection is about. You know, sharing is caring. So here is the second part of my most recent gig at Revolution Live. In my last entry, I shared with you New Direction which was their supporting band. Now it’s time for their headliner, Blue October.

I’ll be honest, I had never heard of them prior to being scheduled to cover them on this night. Apparently I was living under a rock somewhere because they really do have a following. The venue was already full prior to the opening band even taking the stage and they were ready. Then again, so was I. I was excited to give them a listen and to watch them perform.

Now, they were a bit of a challenge for two reasons. I had never shot them before so I wasn’t really the most familiar with their lighting nor their movements and there was a lot of backlighting and smoke to shoot through. Still, I had a great time. They were good and the vocalist, he made it such a point to connect with the crowd. It was really refreshing.

So I picked my favorites to share with you here. Let me know what you think. You can check out the full set on my Facebook page. As always, your feedback and commentary are certainly welcomed.
