Hello fans and friends alike. The queen was on vacation this week and while most of my plans fell through, I still managed on making the best if it. I’ve been wanting and meaning to go to Butterfly World in Ft. Lauderdale for months now and what better time to do it then with time off from work. I got there as soon as soon they opened Monday morning and immediately upon walking through the first exhibit, a smile was instantly brought upon my face. All these beautiful creatures flitting about, how could you not immediately feel the tranquility? I stayed there for several hours and even a brief rainstorm, yet I couldn’t be happier.
Hello readers. I wanted to take a moment to bring to you my latest set. This weekend I had the pleasure of going out to my first ever drum circle. The weather heading out there was a bit scary. I got to spend a little time at my local pool hall recently and for that I was thankful. You see, I love shooting pool and can remain on the table for hours on end. So much so, that I don’t really take many photographs while I’m there. Still, I never know when something is going to catch my eye, so I usually rest my camera on top of the rail. It doesn’t hurt to keep her handy. This particular day there was a few moments that caught my fancy and I was lucky enough to snap them when I could. I hope you enjoy them. (more…)
I haven’t had much time behind the lens lately. Between work and personal obligations, there isn’t enough hours in the day. Sadly, photography isn’t how I earn my living and so I’ve been dealing with camera withdrawals. Even in my daily life, I would be walking past someone or something and I found myself reaching for Artemis in my handbag. She was there, as always, though time never did allow. It makes me sad more often than not. Alas, life makes you work for what you want and so, I press forward. (more…)
A couple of weeks back I was invited to sit in while a friend of ours and his new band were laying down some tracks for the upcoming EP of theirs. Now I was shooting more from a personal level, being that I was truthfully just enjoying hanging out. However, I did get a couple of shots that I wanted to share with you all. There are a couple from the recording session, as well as some from the downtime at the pool hall. They are nothing fancy, just good times with some great people and a group that I get to shoot doing their thing in the very near future. Stay tuned for those posts for sure. (more…)
Every other week, I go with my mother to the cemetery and visit the grave of my aunt. While I normally don’t take photos while I’m there, sometimes there are moments that begged to be captured. This particular day, my niece and nephew came along and wanted to take part in the rituals we do while there. Kids can be so well adjusted some times. (more…)
I love shooting pool. I really do. It’s the kind of activity that I am perfectly content playing for hours on end either by myself or with a group of friends. This weekend I had the pleasure of heading out to our local Art District here in Miami for an exclusive photo shoot with one of my close friends, Nick Voss. He had wanted to get together and take a few photos in an urban type setting for the release of his three new singles and I was more than happy to oblige. (more…)
2014 and the beginning of a new year. 2013 is now come and gone and I find it fitting to bring to you my last set of photographs of the year. I had the pleasure of photographing at CMN’s first annual winter music concert. It was a great evening full of wonderful talent both in music and in art. I, for one, was thankful to be present and wish them even more success in the upcoming events. So here is my final set of the year. I look forward to many more opportunities in this upcoming years. I love shooting pool. It falls right on up there in my favorite past times list. Of course with time being as limited as it is, I rarely have time to indulge my pool hall junkie side. This weekend, however, was an entirely different story. Imagine my excitement when amongst the list of plans for the evening was to go to our local hall and push the rock around. Artemis and I were both very excited. While I spent more time on the table as opposed to behind the lens, I did manage on snapping a few to share with you. Who says I don’t care about my readers.
