So here’s the deal. In the 3 years I’ve been shooting live music, I had never shot a band with my 50mm prime lens. Despite reading in several different places how it’s the obvious choice when shooting in dark or dimly lit venue due to the larger aperture, for me it is simply a matter of having the flexibility of a zoom lens and not having to pack more than necessary when going out.
Even with a fight breaking out right next to me, it was all about the vibe that night. Of course my small little self got up quick as hell and relocated to a different spot. I was not trying to be a casualty on such a gorgeous night. The fight not withstanding, I was loving it that night. The spinners were on fire, figuratively speaking of course. Or am I? (more…)

Hello once again readers. I’m hoping all is well in your wonderful worlds. I’ve been quite the busy queen as of late. It’s like my muse is on overtime and I couldn’t be happier. This time around I’m bringing to you a little goodness from my personal life and my recent outing to Grove Bay Grill. Every now and then I enjoy going out for walks, especially when it’s a particularly gorgeous day. Thankfully, on this particular day, the temps weren’t in competition with hell and so I decided to take a quick little venture out to Tropical Park which is near my home. I grew up in this park. I remember going to play here back when I was a young girl with my parents and I still visit it here and there now as an adult. While it’s not the most scenic of parks in the South Florida area, it still has it’s little hidden treasures. From the landscaping in certain areas, to your random little animal friends, it always manages on bringing a smile to my face. Besides, sometimes the day to day city life can be quite stressful, and going out to take in nature is always recommended. At least by me anyways. (more…)
