(more…)I’ve been waiting for this. I would love to say patiently, but that would be a lie. I’ve been scratching at myself waiting for the word to come in so that I can release this particular entry.
Ladies and gentleman and all in between. I am absolutely ecstatic to be writing to you today. I’m not going to beat around the bush here. I was both privileged and blessed to not simply attend a live and intimate performance of one of my all time favorite Hip Hop artists, I was given the opportunity to capture it with my lens. Yes yes y’all, ya don’t stop, KRS-ONE, rock on! and I was there.
I’m not normally at a complete loss for words when I’ve heard a band play live for the first time; however, if there was one band that left me speechless, Turkuaz would be one of them.
I’ll fill you guys in on a little secret. I’ve been wanting to check out some (hed) p.e. for quite some time now. Years to be exact. Yet somehow or another something has always gotten in the way. Not this past Friday though. I especially was not going to miss them performing alongside DOPE at the Kelsey Theater. There was just no way.
I haven’t been editing my eyeballs off, not at all. What can I say, I’ve been shutter happy for quite some time now and I am certainly not complaining.
In a year that seems to have taken so many of the icons of my time, there is one that is still rocking it to this day. Dee Snider. (more…)
