Hello, hello, and hello. This post has been sitting in my queue. It has been waiting for it’s time as I sort through my days, my day job, and of course my clients. As we all know, we must prioritize our time and our days accordingly because one thing money can’t buy is time.

We prioritize and we move accordingly. That being said, I am making time today to get together a little post to share a recent event I was given the opportunity to cover with you all. While I’m not sharing with you the images from the job in specific I was hired to cover, I’m here now sharing with you the perk of the job that came after. Yes, the job was to cover one thing, but afterward came the fun, live music.

It was so much fun working the MAS Miami event, even more so walking around after the fact, checking out all the live performances. I didn’t need much, just the vibe and my go-to lens, the 24-70mm. It was quick and easy but most of all, I had a great time. When it’s your passion, it’s not a job nor will it ever really be. So here I am setting aside a little time to share with you a collection taken from one of my latest ventures, MAS Miami 5. Here is my top 5 with a little more to see on my Facebook page. Let me know what you think.

When you love what you do, it’s never really truly a “job”, at least not for me. Last December, while working the fifth MAS Miami not only did I have an amazing time behind the lens capturing the step and repeat, I also had the pleasure of so much more.

MasMiami5 was an event presented by the full cast of The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz at the intersection of music, art, and sports to get a taste of Miami’s diverse culture. During this 5th year’s MAS, there was a buy-in domino tournament, Zoo Miami’s own Ron Magill, as he unretired his “Sex and the Animals” presentation, a live art installation featuring some of Miami’s most talented artists, and a live art auction, with proceeds from the auction going to the Ron Magill Conservation Endowment and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

There were even performances but some great bands such as Les Greene And The Swayzees, whose fun Motown influence turned rock and roll into rock and soul, and the LeBatard Show’s very own Mike Ryan, whose DJ sets always swing between fun, funny and funky. The best part for me closing out the night was the one and only G Love and needless to say I have been a big fan of the man behind hip-hop blues fusion ever since I heard “Slipped Away” in 1997. Supported by South Florida’s very own Juke, G. Love did not disappoint.

Now while I have been caught up with a few projects in these last few months, I didn’t want any more time to slip away (see what I did there?). Before I share with you this particular night and better yet, G Love. You know how I do. I share with you my final selection of images in an album on my Facebook page. Then, I will bring you my favorites here. I’m hoping that if you haven’t taken a listen to G. Love, this post inspires you to give him a try and let me also suggest that you attend the next MAS MIAMI so you can know what a great night of music, arts, and sports is all about.

Caught in this pool held in your eyes
Caught like a fool without a line
We’re in a natural spring
With this gentle sting between us

I wanna make this play
Oh, I know you’re faded
Mm, but stay, don’t close your hands

To those of you who know me on a personal level, you know how I am very much a fan of Rhye. If you don’t know me, then that was a little FY and I for you. From the moment I heard their song “Open”, I was hooked. So when I found out they were coming down once again for Art Basel, I had to put in my request for coverage. Yes, this one was ProBono and I regret nothing.

In my last entry, I shared with you some images from Mons Vi which opened for them and now it’s time for my Top 10 favorites of none other than Rhye. Yes, I was in the feels this night without a doubt. They played quite a few of my favorite tracks included “Open”. This evening was absolutely perfect. They played North Beach Bandshell on a particularly cooler night. So you had the cooler weather, the beach, and the vibe. I really could not have been any happier that evening.

I did take both my 24-70mm lens as well as my big boy, the 70-200mm and I made use of them both. So yes, sweater weather, chill tunes and then there’s me working my way around the venue and just taking it all in. I didn’t shoot much but I did get together my favorites here with a few more images on my Facebook page. You know, just in case you wanted to see what I’m talking about. And if you want to be turned on to something new, check them out on Spotify. They are so mellow definitely on my playlists for when I’m relaxing and even editing.

That being said, until next time. 2020 has begun and there’s a to-do list to be accomplished. Thank you all for your time and support. Happy New Year!

It is listening. There are times you may not think that it is, but I assure you the Universe listens.

I remember when I first got a chance to check out Modern Mimes performing at Femme Fest a couple of years back. They immediately had my attention. I loved the uniqueness of their sound, the imagery they conveyed even though it was just the two of them. It was a breath of fresh air to be honest. I was impressed and immediately a fan. I also found myself thinking, I would love to have them in front of my lens at some point. Not on stage, but a little more personal. They are after all, a beautiful pair. That’s not to say I skipped out on seeing them perform when I could, it just meant that I had more in mind.

Now I did begin this entry by stating how the Universe is listening. Here is why. They reached out to me for a shoot a short time ago. I of course said yes. I was automatically excited. Initially there was an idea being thrown around about a specific type of location and we scouted for just the perfect spot. I have to say I enjoyed the scavenger hunt though I’m very glad they elected to go a different route and decided to make it a bit more personal. It was what I had been wanting. The best part about it was that I finally had the opportunity not only to photograph Modern Mimes, the location was on my bucket list.

Have you ever been to the 1111 Lincoln Road Garage in Miami Beach? Do yourself a favor and look it up. It is amazing. I love architecture. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine and I’ve often gone to the garage recreationally just to snap away here and there for personal development. Imagine how pleased I was to be able to actually put in “work” there. It was great. And Modern Mimes, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Humble, down to earth and very easy to photograph. Don’t believe me, check out my favorites of the day here or browse through a few more on my Facebook page. Oh and before I got, definitely give Modern Mimes a listen. I think you’ll dig them. You can find them on Spotify.

It’s not always going to be easy and sometimes it requires a little more effort than usual. Just remember, delays are not denial and if you want something, you make the effort and stick with it.

Goals are being met That being said, here is another mark of my checklist. After all, I have my vision and I work towards it. Which is why today I’m bring you yet another little set taken from my backlog. You’ve already seen both Kokosante as well as Born Beneath from my night at O’Malley’s. Now I’m brining to you Mekromium. I’ve seen them perform live before and so I already knew they were going to be great. But it’s as if all was lined up perfectly for this set. The lighting was positively perfect. If I had to complain it would be those damn tv’s. I get that they were there for people to play video games as it was in a sense a birthday party that night, but so many times there was a great shot that of course had a projector screen in the background taking away from the epic ness.

All in all though, I absolutely loved this set. So many fun shots that I feel show you what is Mekromium and what emotion they put behind their music. You know the routine, I narrowed it down to a top 10 for this entry but there are a few more you are invited to check out on my Facebook page. Of course, any comments and feedback are welcomed. Let me know what you think. Tell me how you feel about them.

I love hearing from you and thank you for stopping in. There’s still a few things I have to work on and some projects in the works. Make sure you subscribe to this blog and stay up to date.

With love,

Without any further ado, I’ve been catching up on my backlog recently as you may have noticed. Images taken a few months back that I just haven’t gotten around to. I have made it my goal to get these taken care of in the next couple of weeks. I have a few things in store for me that I want to be ready for. Personal and photography alike. May promises to be a great month. It is known. But for now, let’s talk about Kokosante. While they did not. provide for a variety of pictures, let me tell you how entertained I was during their performance. I was pleasantly surprised. It actually made for my staying longer than I should have this particular not and I wasn’t complaining.

So yes, you’re seeing it correctly. A guitarist in a dress, a vocalist in a Luchador mask and unfortunately not really any photos worth posting of Eyore the drummer. So much fun. These guys were having a blast on stage and I was personally having a blast and thoroughly enjoying the colors. I didn’t snap all that many photos of them but I’m thinking you guys might dig this particular few. As the saying goes, quality over quantity any damn day. There are a few more on my Facebook page though I think my selection here just about sums up the night. They were all shot with my 24-70mm, no flash, just the ambient which to me is my preferred style. I have always felt the minute you use a flash, even to just fill-in, it takes you out of the venue altogether. That’s not my style. Not saying I won’t ever use flash, I just prefer not to. I’d rather have you see as I see and if I’ve done it right, you’ll see it too.

It’s been a short while since I’ve posted an entry for you guys and so today I’m going to make amends.

First off, let me say that I’m coming to you now on my rebooted website. Yes, I had changed it up a bit a little over a month ago but for multiple reasons, I just wasn’t living for it. There was quite a few limitations I was coming across and I just was not happy with it overall. Aesthetically it was appealing but at the same time, limiting. And so I decided to give it another go and this time, this time I am beyond satisfied with it. In fact, I think I’m sticking with it for some time. It will definitely give me plenty of room for all the projects and ideas going on in this busy mind of mine. As a photographer, as a person, I am always looking to grow and this particular setup is going to give me just what I need. But let’s get to the reason why you are here now, the photos.

.A while back I made a little pit stop at O’Malleys to check out a few bands I hadn’t heard in a while along with two new bands I had been meaning to check out. One of those two bands was Born Beneath. Metal isn”t that heavy sounding in the music scene down here in Miami lately and it was good to come across a band that had it. I have to say that I was definitely glad to have been able to not just watch them, but to capture them doing their thing. I actually had quite a few favorite images from their performance but I’m going to share with you the whole set here because, why not?

I hope you dig them and if you want to check them out personally, go hit up their Facebook and see where they are playing next.

Patience is a virtue and let’s just say that waiting to share this particular set with you has been an exercise in that regard. So much so that I already had this entry written and saved waiting for the time to come. Guess what? The time has finally arrived. About eight months ago I had the absolute pleasure of being asked to get behind the lens for one of my favorite bands, GEARS. They were in town filming their music video for KING, the first track to be released from their newest EP. These men really know how to keep it real and raw. They always bring it and even after touring for a month and literally driving in from their last show straight to Miami, their energy or passion was not lacking in any which way shape, or form. And it was contagious. Being there capturing the behind-the-scenes alone had me on that high. These guys are amazing. They’re talented, driven, passionate, work hard and never stop. I am ever so proud of not just how far they’ve come but how far they will go.

I had an absolute blast with them this day. Not only did I get to experience what it’s like to be behind the scenes on a video shoot, I learned. And Beast, well, he had a blast. It was truly a great day spent not only doing what I love but with a great soundtrack. Music has got to be my second love. Music makes everything better. On that note, let me share with you a few of my favorite captures of the day. Yes, there are quite a few. It was really difficult for me to pick them out, to be honest. Yes, it really was that much of a great time for me. I have so much more to show you on my Facebook page but these are some of my favorites. I made it a point to stay tucked back and out of the way of the magic and so I made up for the lack of positions with some creativity in the post work. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed not just the experience and the opportunity but working on the images after the fact. These guys are amazing and I’m ever so proud of not just how far they’ve come but how far they will go.

It was rewarding to finish them up though I will say that just sitting patiently waiting for the video to be released so that I may share these with you had me scratching at myself And by the way let me tell you, this song is fire. GEARS knows damn well how to bring it and I certainly did not mind rocking out to it throughout the day while the guys did their thing and I did mine. I knew the video would be on point as well being that Bryan the CEO was the man behind the camera. I’ll definitely let the video speak for itself and you can check it out HERE or by clicking the preview below. And please, feel free to share with your friends. I promise you, you’ll love it.

Oh, and GEARS, much love.

Now, because I’ve been patiently waiting for my turn, here are the goods. As always, thank you for your time.

With love, The Queen

Ordinary Boys is a Morrissey/ The Smiths tribute band that has quite the following. I mean, who doesn’t like at least a few tunes from them? And while I have seen them perform a couple of times already, it had been a long time since I’ve brought my camera out and captured some of their moments. I thought now would be a good a time as any and so I made the trek to Kelsey, camera in hand and ready to not just capture images, but dance a little while I was at it. Unfortunately my time at Kelsey was limited this time around though. I had a long ride home. I managed on grabbing a few shots that I rather dig and then of course the usual, eh, not so much. But I’m sharing my favorites with you now with a couple of little added extras on my Facebook page. I did come away rather happy with the shots and how they turned out. Let me know what you think.

Do I have a lot to catch up on. But one step at a time so long as its forward. It’s always a great sense of accomplishment when you are able to complete the goals you set out for yourself and I am, if nothing else, feeling excited at what’s to come.

For starters, the website has a new look. Yes, there is some kinks I still have to work out as well as some additions I will be putting in place but all in all, I’m very happy with how it turned out. All the hours I spent running a caffeine drip and burning my eyes scaring at the screen were well worth it. It was however quite a bit of time spent and so my personal shoots have had to be placed on the backburner. This particular set that I’m bringing to you today is one of them. I took this set about a month ago showing my love and support for a local band by the name of Sunny South. Would I have known then it would be their next to last show, perhaps I would have taken a few more images.

The ones I did take though, I absolutely adore. They were on fire that night. They even had people coming in from the street to join them on the dance floor. I had such a great time as did my camera. There was color, there was tones and smiling faces everywhere. I was completely engrossed behind the lens. I’m guessing you can see for yourselves in this set of favorites I selected for you today, but if you can’t, please take a look at all the images on my Facebook page so you know just what I mean. It is a little sad to see them each take on their own individual roads but I know that they will be amazing in all their endeavors.
