I was definitely looking forward to coming out on this night and shooting Pandia at Fishtales in Ft. Lauderdale. Not only did I want to step up my game and make up for the last set at Cheers, I just flat-out needed my fix. Pandia hooked it up once more. What made it even more special was the special guests they had lined up. Not only were they brining out my girl Krisi Lynx, they had some pretty epic vocal stylings from this little petite set of pipes named Wendy and the oh so cool Devon singing us some Sublime right alongside Mr. Trip 6. Of course the usual out of hand performances by Jen on guitar and Ms. E on drums was an added plus.

To say the night was epic is an understatement and I’m hoping the pictures prove it to you. Well, that is as much as they can without you having had been there. As for the babe, he performed beautifully. I could have sworn there were times where he took over his own shutter presses and started doing his thing. It’s either that or I was just buried behind my lens. Whatever it was, I felt the magic. Yes, I’m being that corny. After all, it is what I do some times. I’m just a big ol’ mushball.

From the moment I walked in to Cheers this night, I knew I had my work cut out for me. Yes, I have shot at Cheers before but the lighting was different this time around. It wasn’t so much that it was on the darker side, I’ve gotten used to that. What posed an issue for me was the lack of any lighting other than those lovely green, red and blue laser beams that us photographers absolutely adore. Can you pick out the sarcasm there? I hope so.

Back to the post though. My night with Pandia. At first I wasn’t sure I’d make it through the night coming off a full shift at work and then headed up for an hour drive. Did I mention their set ended at 4 a.m.? Basically I pulled an all nighter yet it was worth it. I love these guys. Never a dull time and the energy is always full of great vibes. I barely noticed the time. They killed it and yes, I danced and shot. I’m multi talented.

As for the photos, I didn’t think they would turn out decent. Even with the 7D in hand, I had a time trying to keep up with the exposures. And for someone who would rather not convert their shots to black and white, I certainly faced a challenge in post. I don’t back down though. After all, you go after what you want and I was going to get it done. Granted, I did convert quite a few to black and white but I wasn’t losing a great shot on account of being stubborn.

No matter how many shots we take, as photographers, we all come away with our favorite shots of the night. I wanted to bring you mine from this particular night at the Elbo Room in Ft. Lauderdale. First off, this place was hot an sweaty, yet that did not take away from my having a good time both behind the lens and otherwise. While I definitely needed a shower when I got home, it was certainly a great night. I took quite a few shots. Some were fun, some artsy, and some.. well, let’s just say I wanted you guys to see the good times to be had.
