Well well. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. Life has had me plenty busy though I have not forgotten you all. I’m actually here today to bring you all a little something special. You see, yesterday marked my three year anniversary of shooting live music. While I have only had my Rebel a few months longer, shooting live music is my bag. It’s my thrill, my drug. To see the artists on stage, their live and passion for what they do, I get lost in the moment. I get lost in the feeling.
Yes it is possible to become one with the lens and for me, shooting live is when that happens most. With that said, this particular collection is quite dear to me. I took these shots at a venue by the name of Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. I went in support of a guitarist friend of mine and that night spawned an incredible love affair for this type of photography. If only I could aptly describe how I feel placing my eye behind the lens and pressing the shutter for the first time. Click, and it’s on.
I didn’t have any special gear with me this night. As a matter of fact as a novice, it was just body, kit lens and of course, my eyes, yet what resulted was a magic all in itself. I’m not speaking of the epicness of the shots, that’s for you all to decide. For me the magic is that feeling, that love, that passion frozen in time within the images. I can only hope to capture even a fraction of what these artist feel upon that stage because for me, taking their pictures is a drug that I can’t seem to get enough of.
Enough of the blah, blah, blah. We all know I can ramble on. Here’s the goods. Feel free to share and comment, or if Facebook is more your thing, visit the album on my page Through The Eyes on FB
Much love,
