First thing’s first, let me see how thankful I am to have had this night to put in my books. There’s a first time for everything and this night qualified as just that.
Now, let me tell you the why. Not only did it feel oh so damn good to be back out on the scene taking in live music but here’s the catch, this time I did my thing but the Beast stayed home. I shot this night only with my iPhone and let me say I was although I was apprehensive I was without a doubt, up to the challenge.
You see, I love playing with shadows, textures, moods. I had never actually done those things with my phone though so I was unsure what to expect. I did it though. The epitome of packing light. It was just me, my red boots, and my phone and we were in for one fantastic night of tribute to Stone Temple Pilots courtesy of Crackerman. Which by the way you must give them a listen if they happen to be in your area.
These guys were great, awesome energy and they played all the right songs, especially my favorites so yes, I was a bit partial. It was a great time indeed not only because I love me some live music, but I am definitely big on that era of music. Truth be told and it is my opinion, that’s when music was music. Speaking of which, let’s get back to just that.
There was no photo pass, no fancy camera, just me capturing what I saw with my mind’s eye. You know what they say, it’s not the gear. I pushed it. I know that I did and while I am my own worst critic, I did come away with some images I’m fond of so here I am sharing with you my top 10 of the evening with a few more to be seen on my Facebook page. Please, go on and check them out. I’d love to get some feedback.
Now, I don’t know when I’ll attempt another iPhone-only shoot because to be honest, my Beast and I vibe oh so lovely together. Nevertheless, it was still a great experience that I am thankful to have had. Here’s to you Crackerman, thank you for the invite.
