Day in and day out I’ve been at this and let me just say it was well worth it.
I didn’t initially plan to go out last weekend, but my younger brother had mentioned to me that there was a funk band from Cali coming to play at Wynwood Yard that I really should check out. It was an automatic, “hell yeah, I’m down”. Who turns a good funk band? So off we went to the yard and I found myself excited. I wasn’t sure how much shooting I was going to be able to do since I knew for a fact I would be dancing but, I did shoot. I danced a bit, too. Okay, that’s a lie. I danced a lot. Everyone was dancing and the vibe was amazing throughout the entire yard.
They were phenomenal.Polished and perfect. The entire band was on point with not one weak link to be found. From the vocals to the insane guitar solo and incredible work on keyboard and bass, That Main Squeeze had it on lock. Seriously. It is few and far between that I find myself enjoying a live show that much.
The part I found insane about it all was that despite the fact they are presently touring nationwide just having performed at Red Rocks, the show at the Yard was free. I would have easily paid on any given day to go see them live. You can’t even begin to imagine how much better they are live than on recording. Best part about it all was that despite playing all originals the entire night, they chose Redbone from Childish Gambino. That’s my jam. I just have to say Wow. But this isn’t about my love of funk. This is about the photos, right?
Well, I picked out a few favorites for you all to see here however please make sure you stop by my Facebook page for the whole set. Let’s see how you like them.
Burning the midnight oil and getting things done. If you want to get anywhere in life, don’t make excuses, make efforts towards your goals. I certainly have mine and I work towards them every day. Even if it means pulling overtime and your 9-5 then coming home, caffeinated and back on your own grind.
Hello Hello readers. I’m back! I know it’s been a bit since I’ve checked in and let me just say, it was a very relaxing vacation with very little interaction with technology. We all need some time to disconnect after all. I did however have a few photos I was working on that I just had to finish up and I’m bringing to. you know. (more…)
Just in time I say.
I’ve been once again burning the midnight oil. While I still have a couple of sets to work through, I can now say that I have completed the last set of images from a particularly great weekend for me. I love this feeling of accomplishment. Small victories equal great feelings. But let’s not wax all poetic. After all, this is all about the photos people. Isn’t it? (more…)
I did this thing a bit back where I went to see GEARS kick off their summer tour at O’Malley’s last month and got to take in a bit of new music from these guys. Go on, click the read more button. (more…)
Guess who finally got her fix? Yeah, you guessed it, this one.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen these guys rock the stage and I was way overdue.
It has been a very busy time for me lately and I have not one complaint in the world. What’s even better is that with each time out behind the lens, I am learning something new. I believe one should never stop working not their craft.
Last week was a very busy week for me. 3 bookings each one day apart combined with a day job equaled a very tired individual. While I would love to sleep for like a week, I’m actually quite excited to be sharing this particular post with you today.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending some time with a band by the name of the The Von. They reached out to me wanting a few promo shots and I was happy to oblige. They wanted a bit of sunrise action and so we had chosen Delray Beach to begin. (more…)
